Most of CFA's work is done through volunteer florists and their committees.

•FINANCE COMMITTEE. Chairman: Kim Notaro. Members: Rosemary Agostunicci AIFD, John Tornatore, Cathie
Giuffrida, and Bob Heffernan. Function: develop CFA budget and review spending
practices of the Association.
•NOMINATING COMMITTEE. Chairman: John Tornatore. Function: screen and nominate candidates for CFA
offices and directorships.
•EDUCATION COMMITTEE/THE CFA SCHOOL. Chairman: Bob Sabia AIFD. Members: Susan Wall, Louise Pastormerlo, and Bob
Heffernan. Function: develop educational seminars and workshops throughout the
year for floral tradespeople in Connecticut, including the CFA Floral Design
School program.
•CONNECTICUT FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW COMMITTEE. Chairman: Bob Buettner. Members: Bob Heffernan. Function: develop and oversee the CFA exhibit at the Connecticut
Flower & Garden Show each February.
•COMMITTEE ON MARKETING/A REAL FLORIST PROGRAM. Function: to find ways to market and promote the independent retail florist
through sophisticated marketing. Chairman: Bob Buettner.
•THE CFA AWARDS. The Chairman is the CFA Past President: John Tornatore. Function: to review
nominations for the CFA awards program and select the final winners, which are
announced at the annual meeting. Awards include: Connecticut Florist of the
Year, Connecticut Friend of Floristry Award, The CFA Marketing Award, and the
CFA Award for Florist Improvement.
•CFA COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE. Chairman: Lynne Gaffney. Oversee CFA publications.
•NORTHEAST FLORAL EXPO. 2011 Chair: Kim Notaro. Function: oversee the operation of CFA’s annual convention and trade show.
